EXPLORE DIFFERENT TYPES OF JUMBO BAGS

Jumbo bags (also known as FIBC – Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers) are large-sized industrial packaging solutions made from woven PP (Polypropylene) fabric. They are widely used for storing, handling, and transporting heavy goods, typically with load capacities ranging from 300 kg to 2,500 kg.

Depending on usage needs and product characteristics, jumbo bags are categorized based on several criteria:

1. Classification by Bag Body Structure

  • Circular Body

- Round tubular body: Cylindrical in shape, made from seamless woven fabric without side stitching. Common diameters range from 108 cm to 140 cm.

- Square tubular body: Designed in a square shape, with the body formed by sewing the base and top panels to create a defined structure.

  • 4-Panel Body
Constructed from four separate fabric panels sewn together, offering high durability and flexibility in size customization.
  • U-Panel Body
Made from a single large fabric piece forming two sides and the bottom (U-shape), then sewn with two additional side panels to complete the bag.

2. Classification by Top and Bottom Design

Some common types include:

  • Filling/Discharge Spout: Features a tubular spout at the top and/or bottom, ideal for powdered or granular materials.
  • Duffle Top: An extended cover that fully encloses the bag opening, protecting contents from dust, moisture, and spillage during transport.
  • 3-Side Open Top: One side is sewn to the body, allowing it to be closed after filling.
  • Fully Open Top: Designed for quick and convenient loading, suitable for a wide range of materials depending on customer needs.

3. Classification by Lifting Loops

Jumbo bags are also differentiated by loop styles such as U-loops, cross-corner loops, and tubular loops, each suited for different lifting and handling methods.

Three commonly used loop types:

  • 4 Lifting Loops (U-Loop Design): Four loops evenly distributed for balanced load handling, suitable for both forklifts and cranes.
  • Tubular/Eliptical Loops: Circular or oval-shaped loops sewn directly into the bag body, allowing quick and efficient forklift or crane handling ideal for high-frequency operations.
  • Cross-Corner (Integrated Loops): Built directly into the bag structure without separate attachments, enhancing durability and reducing the risk of breakage.

4. Specialized Jumbo Bags

  • Baffle Bags (Anti-Bulging): Designed with internal baffles to evenly distribute contents, maintaining shape stability and preventing bulging during transport.
  • Sift-Proof Bags: Engineered to prevent leakage of fine powders such as cement, chemicals, or small granules.
  • Sling Bags: Consist of a woven PP base fabric with integrated lifting straps and additional side panels. Commonly used for transporting large block-shaped goods or smaller bags (e.g., cement, rice, plastic pellets) with load capacities of 40-50 kg.

These are some of the most common types of jumbo bags available on the market today. To select the right bag for your product, packaging process, and logistics requirements, it’s important to carefully evaluate technical specifications.
